Bike and Pedestrain Cases Fundamentals & Novel Issues


The MTLA is pleased to have Maine Bike & Pedestrian Law Attorney Lauri Boxer-Macomber of Kelly, Remmel & Zimmerman, Crash Reconstructionist Richard McAllister of the Crash Lab, and Bob O’Brien of Noyes Hall & Allen Insurance offer a Virtual/Zoom CLE on June 29 from 10-12 am on bike and pedestrian crashes, cases, and investigations. The session will begin with an overview of Maine bicycle, pedestrian, and traffic safety laws. Then, the presenters will cover the basics of bicycle and pedestrian crash investigation. From there, they will dive into legal and insurance issues surrounding some of the more unique and newer forms of transportation on our roadways such as e-bikes, motorized skateboards, roller skis, bike share bikes, and scooters. Presenters will also touch on the Streets are for People movement, the Slow ME Down campaign, infrastructure considerations, transportation justice issues, and general tips and resources for handling vulnerable road user cases.
